Homeowners at last!

Today we finally closed on our home! We didn't know how much money we owed until 3 hours before the closing and emotions were running high but apparently that is status quo. Closing was relatively painless and the former owner was much nicer than I had made her out to be in my head.

After closing, we went straight home to change and headed to our new place. Luke carried me through the front door for kicks and then we got down and dirty... Taking down wallpaper that is.

We had been properly warned about the nightmares of wallpaper. This helped prepare me and set me up to expect the worst. The wallpaper however was yearning to be torn down and surrendered without a fight. We were pulling down whole sheets of wallpaper dry... No scoring, no steam. Just picking it like a scab.

20 minutes later, we broke out the Chomp solution to take the glue layer down. Luke really had a knack for spraying and peeling entire layers of glue down. We couldn't believe our luck!

We were done by 9 and have all wallpaper and glue done in the master, wallpaper removed from master bath and guest. Will resume the fun tomorrow after work. We are hoping to have the walls primed by Friday night in the master.
